Welcome to Room 5

  • I love learning and believe it should be fun and hands-on. I have a strong emphasis on developing positive learning habits that help students become strong independent individuals. We use a lot of technology to guide our learning and on how to use technology safely.

  • What Inspires Me – “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.” -Walt Disney

  • District Tools I Use

Attendance:  I take attendance using Aeries. You can stay on top of attendance through the Aeries Family Portal or Aeries App

Report Cards:  I use Aeries to generate report cards. Families can view report cards through the Aeries Family Portal.

Gradebook:  All grades are logged into a Google spreadsheet and weekly reports are generated and sent home every Tuesday.

Sangha Interactive App: I will be testing out the Sangha app this school year as a communication tool with families. This is a great way for us to stay connected during the school year.

Google Classroom: I use Google Classroom during the school day to share and assign various activities with students. This is our way to move towards using less paper in the classroom to help our environment.

Other Tools I Use:

Class Dojo: I use Class Dojo as a class management system for behaviors and class participation. A student behavior report is generated and sent home with weekly reports. Parents who download and connect with me on the app are able to use the messaging tool to contact me. I am also able to post class updates and communicate events with families directly. Pending access, I will be doing a trial run of doing student portfolios through this app.

Blocksi: This is a monitoring service our district uses as we help students develop safe internet skills. I am able to monitor student activities from my screen to ensure they are safely using the internet for their learning.
